Risk Management Consulting Competency Assessment & Webinar Training
Risk Management Consulting
RJL specializes in providing part-time insurance and risk management to companies large enough to need internal expertise, but not large enough to justify the expense of a full-time department. Unlike a broker, we do not sell insurance nor do we represent any insurance carrier. We focus more on the important day-to-day details of managing your insurance program so critical in minimizing costs. The result will be to assist you in obtaining:
- a truly objective evaluation of your insurance program,
- lower cost insurance,
- a reduction of management’s time, which is so valuable.
A brief summary of the specific Services we provide include:
- AUDIT / REPORT TO MANAGEMENT
This is a detailed review of all policies to determine adequacy / necessity of coverages and a determination of appropriate premiums. A report to management and recommendations follow. - ADMINISTER PROPOSAL PROCESS
Implement the RJL system of broker / carrier selection, concentrating on client control of the process. Diligent shopping, via the use of significant competitive pressure, is the only proven method to assure you are not overpaying premiums. We explore all alternatives because we have no vested interest in the final decision. This is different than a broker who is limited to only those carriers he represents. We will perform this process for your business package, workers compensation, and group medical / dental coverages. - NEGOTIATE PROPOSALS
Consistently we have seen that there is always room to negotiate better coverage, terms and conditions, and/or premium after a proposal is presented. We will help you negotiate the best deal available. - SAFETY
Preventing losses before they occur is essential to lowering insurance costs. We will audit your current program and subsequently develop or enhance key elements as necessary, drawing upon our years of experience working with similar companies. We will sit on your safety committee and provide hands-on direction. - CLAIMS MANAGEMENT
The key to long-term cost reduction is loss reduction. Insurance carriers often are not diligent in expediting claims, allowing the final costs to escalate. We will monitor the progress of claims and intercede as necessary. - HEALTH INSURANCE STRATEGIC PLANNING
Traditional “shopping” for Health Insurance alternatives is a waste of time, usually yielding little cost reduction. Alternatively, RJL will assist management in determining whether this important employee benefit achieves its intended objectives: competitive hiring & retention, union risks, corporate citizenship and, most importantly, regulatory compliance under the evolving health care reform legislation. RJL provides a unique view of many strategies used by other similar companies.
Competency Assessment & Webinar Training
RJL has entered into a new series of services: competency assessment and webinar-based training!
Workers’ Compensation
The first series we are offering is titled Workers Compensation Claim Management Basics. This series is intended to train any employee that handles WC claims, or regularly gets involved in the resolution of WC cases. Although designed predominantly as an introductory program for someone new to handling WC claims, it is also an excellent refresher course for those with significant experience. Therefore, it can benefit anyone working with WC claims in your organization, not just employees new to the job.
Do You Need This Training? Take our quick Competency Assessment Survey!
The program consists of six 30-minute sessions, at a cost of $30 each per person (or $150 per person for the entire series when enrolled in one shot). The topics addressed are :
- Workers’ Compensation System Overview
- Administrative Processes & Documentation
- Terminology & Acronyms
- Controlling Medical Treatment
- Return To Work Strategies
- Claim Resolution & Closure
In addition to covering the listed topics, we will also be providing examples and charts to enhance learning. Not only will they hear the information, they will see copies of actual forms and documents, and receive flow charts of processes that they can refer to any time they need a reminder of “what comes next.” And very importantly, we will provide a post-webinar quiz for each session. And, if you sign up for the entire series, we’ll provide both a pre-session assessment and a post-session assessment so you can actually see how your competency has improved! Results for quizzes and assessments can be provided to whomever you designate.
A bit further down the road we will be introducing more WC and Safety sessions – stay tuned for future announcements!
Meanwhile, we hope you will participate in our WC Claim Management Basics sessions – we know they’ll be of great benefit to anyone who attends.
