Who is RJL?
Richard J. Leibfried
President, RJL Insurance Services
Richard Leibfried has been an insurance professional since 1976. In his current position with RJL, Mr. Leibfried provides insurance and risk management consulting services to the middle market business community. Acting essentially as a “part-time” risk manager for his clients, Mr. Leibfried brings both traditional as well as innovative, proprietary risk management strategies to these companies.
Mr. Leibfried’s experience is extensive. As an underwriter, broker and consultant he has been involved in the design, evaluation, and ongoing management of insurance programs for a wide range of businesses. Additionally, Mr. Leibfried has been directly involved in the formation and management of numerous captive insurance companies as well as a variety of other self insurance arrangements for his clients.
A graduate of Yale University, Mr. Leibfried holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. A frequent lecturer at both insurance industry workshops and general industry seminars, Mr. Leibfried has also guested on radio and television programs to discuss client issues related to insurance.
Denise E. Eells
Consultant, RJL Insurance Services
As a property and casualty insurance broker, Denise spent 25 years working in the Orange County and San Diego insurance industry. Throughout her career, her responsibilities have included sales and marketing, placement and management of middle market accounts, loss control, and client support. She has worked with organizations in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, real estate, technology and agriculture.
With a strong background in risk analysis, marketing, contract and policy review, Denise’s experience adds a broader base of perspective to RJL Services. As an enthusiastic and detail-minded associate, she is dedicated to representing the best interests of her clients with the goal of improving coverage while reducing insurance costs. Denise holds the Associate in Risk Management designation.
Debra S. Farley, WCCA
Consultant, RJL Insurance Services
Debra brings RJL a wealth of experience in the compliance and employee relations arena. Her former experience with a major resort enterprise has given her a successful track record for developing and implementing a variety of employee safety programs.
Her strong Cal-OSHA knowledge provides significant insight to designing solutions to general compliance issues, and her considerable Workers’ Compensation experience adds exceptional value to the RJL team, and allows for additional all-around support for all RJL clients. Debra holds the Workers’ Compensation Claims Administration designation and is especially accomplished in managing insurance claims, with particular success in rapid claim resolution and negotiating with adjusters.
Tamara B. Stiles
Consultant, RJL Insurance Services
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Masters of Industrial Safety from the University of Minnesota. She has many years of insurance, risk management, and safety experience with extensive exposure to Business Continuity Planning. Prior to joining RJL she worked for a Fortune 500 company where her responsibilities included managing the insurance programs for various entities, managing a global loss control program, initiation and support for company safety programs, OSHA compliance, and staff safety training.
Her insurance experience includes Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Cargo/Transit, Cyber, E&O, Executive Risk, Special Risks, Workers Compensation, and many other business critical coverages. Her ability to position comprehensive insurance programs, recognize and address risk exposure brings immense value to the RJL team.
Lori L. Tranquilla, ARM
Consultant, RJL Insurance Services
For over 15 years, Lori has led the Risk Management function for large retail organizations, bringing extensive expertise in insurance program management, pre-loss safety and compliance, and complex claim resolution. With in-depth experience in international and multi-state operations, she uses analytics and cross-functional partnerships to optimize total cost of risk in high-volume incident environments.
Lori holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University, a Master’s in Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
